Scientific Name Brachyglanis microphthalmus  Bizerril, 1991
Common Name
Type Locality Igarapé Saracá of Lake Sapucuá, Rio Trombetas drainage, Pará, Brazil.
Etymology Brachyglanis: Greek, brachys = short + Greek, glanis = a fish that can eat the bait without touching the hook; a cat fish.
