Scientific Name Megalodoras guayoensis  (Fernández-Yépez, 1968)
Common Name
Type Locality Caño de Guayo, Delta Amacuro, Estado Delta, Venezuela.
Etymology Megalodoras: From the Greek mega, meaning large, and doras, meaning skin (also a word commonly used in forming generic names for doradids); in reference to the large size.
