Scientific Name Neosiluroides cooperensis  Allen & Feinberg, 1998
Common Name Cooper Creek Catfish
Type Locality Callamurra Waterhole, Cooper's Creek, 11.3 kilometers east of Innamincka, South Australia, about 27°41'S, 140°51'E.

Etymology Neosiluroides: Greek, neos = new + Greek, silouros = cat fish cooperensis: Named for its known distribution, Cooper Creek.

Size 460mm or 18.1" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Cooper Creek catfish have only been captured in relatively large waterholes. No fish smaller than 160mm (6.4in) TL have ever been recorded.
Sexing They may be sexed by the shape of their urogenital papilla, females are short and flat, males papilla are longer and pointed.
