Etymology From the Latin longus, meaning long and filum, meaning filament, in reference to the long barbels.

Size 102mm or 4" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Smaller dorsal and adipose fins, two pairs of mandibular barbels, at least 50 branched anal-fin rays and 13-15 gill rakers on first gill arch.
Sexing Females are larger and have a rounded, short genital papilla.
