Type Locality Arroyo El Tala, Catamarca Province, Argentina.
Synonym(s) Loricaria catamarcensis
Pronunciation rhine lor ee kar ee ah.
Etymology Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather. Named for Catamarca Province, Argentina, its type locality.
