Scientific Name Tetracamphilius pectinatus  Roberts, 2003
Common Name
Type Locality Congo basin, tributary of River Luala 26 kilometers north of Kibunzi, 8 kilometers south of turnoff to Kibunzi, Luozi District, 45°06.5'S, 13°48'E, Republic of Congo.
Etymology From the Greek tetra meaning four and akis meaning point, in reference to the multicuspid teeth, and Amphilius a generical name for this group of catfishes. The trivial name pectinatus is Latin for comb-like, in reference to the small serrations on the pectoral fin.

Identification This genus differs from all other amphiliiids in having pedicellate jaw teeth with a fan-shaped distal end typically armed with two to six tiny flattened triangular cusps.Triangular adipose fin, slender caudal peduncle , caudal fin deeply forked with the lower lobe slightly larger than upper.

This species is very colorful, the dark narrow bands are a dark chocolate brown, the dorsum of the head and areas between the narrow bands are tan or orangish tan, the abdomen and other pale areas cream colored.
General Remarks The type locality is reported incorrectly in the original species description. As published, the type locality is 45°06.5'S, 13°48'E. However, based on the narrative of the type locality ("Congo basin, tributary of River Luala 26 kilometers north of Kibunzi, 8 kilometers south of turnoff to Kibunzi, Luozi District"), it is more likely that the type locality is 4°56.5'S, 13°48'E.
