Identification Similar to several 'orange head spot species', this species has more of a gold coloured spot.
Sexing Females are larger than males.

Feeding Sinking pellets, frozen brine shrimp or bloodworm, white worms. User data.
Furniture Sandy substrate is preferred but anything that isn't sharp edged is suitable. Plants not a requirement but provide shade and are not molested.
Compatibility A perfect community tank citizen.
Suggested Tankmates Ideal for the smaller community tank, tankmates would be all the commonly found LFS community species such as tetras, small cichlids etc.
Breeding Sandy botom with Java moss clumps. The fish are willing to spawn every 2 weeks with 20-30 eggs. Eggs are placed on glass wall or in Java moss. Eggs will hatch in 4-5 days at 23°C. First food for the fry is microworms. The fry is growing fast and can be kept with the parents.
