Type Locality	Rio Ibare, Mamoré system at Moxos, Dep. Beni, Bolivia, 14°51.131'S, 65°08.360'W, elevation 161 meters.
Pronunciation	kor ee doh rass (lineage four).
Etymology	Cory = helmet, doras = skin. In this case it was incorrectly used to mean armour (cuirasse) instead of skin in allusion to the dual rows of plates that run along the flanks of this genus. Mamore in reference to the river that the type specimen was found in.
