Scientific Name Corydoras (lineage 6) longipinnis  Knaack, 2007
Common Names CW003, Langfinnet Pansermalle (Denmark)
Long-finned Cory
Type Locality Río Dulce, some 20 kilometers downstream from Termas de Río Hondo, Santiago del Estero Province, Argentina, about 27°29'29''S, 64°41'58''W.
Pronunciation kor ee doh rass (lineage six).
Etymology Cory = helmet, doras = skin. In this case it was incorrectly used to mean armour (cuirasse) instead of skin in allusion to the dual rows of plates that run along the flanks of this genus. This specific epithet refers to its long fins (pinnis=fin).
