Size 67mm or 2.6" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Mature males and sometimes females have soft tentacles (bushy fleshy growths) on the snout - this is unique to the genus Ancistrus.

To date this species is known solely from the photograph taken by Rainer Stawikowski, which evidently shows a female. It was collected from the lower Rio Araguaia, Pará State and Rio Tocantins. The striking feature of the species is the transparent fin membranes of both the dorsal and caudal fins. Pigment is only shown in the fin rays, which are black with white points.
Sexing Males have large obvious head tentacles, in females they are either very small or non-existent.
