Etymology Specifically named for Albert Perugia, an Ichthyologist from Triest.

Sexing Males have a modified anal fin similar to the gonopodium found in livebearing toothcarps. Females have a normal anal fin.

Furniture This Centromochlus is a riverine species and is collected in relatively shallow water low in vegetation and high in rocks. This is reflecting in its unusual breeding habits (i.e. its unusual for a woodcat to lay eggs in a cave).
