|Etymology||Hemichromis: Greek, hemis = half + Greek, chromis = a fish, perhaps a perch|
|Size||120mm or 4.7" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.|
|Distribution||Africa: Coastal rivers from western Ivory Coast to Cameroon, excepted Lower Volta basin; a forest associated species. Introduced around 1970 in a stream fed by hot springs in Villach (Austria).
