Type Locality ''La Chute'', 1 kilometer south of Rutunga and Magara, North Lake Tanganyika, Burundi, depth 8-9 meters.
Pronunciation brish hard ee
Etymology Julidochromis: Taken from marine wrasse "julidini"; also from Greek, ioulis = a fish dealing with genera Coris or Thalassoma. brichardi Named after Pierre Brichard, a famous Belgian ichthyologist and student of African fish.
