Common Name
Type Locality Río San Pedro at bridge south of Mene Grande, Río Motatán system, Maracaibo basin, Venezuela.
Synonym(s) Fonchiiichthys rupestris, Loricaria uracantha rupestre
Pronunciation rhine lor ee kar ee ah.
Etymology Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather.
