Identification All Leporacanthicus spp. have a small backwards facing slightly proud blunt thorn-like plate on top of their heads.

Likely a variant of L240, the northern species of Leproacanthicus. This group of wild-caught fishes show unusual patterning (as opposed to small spots) but do have a thick black edge to the dorsal fin. The spots can be white to orange which changes according to diet. Wood is said to result in more orange spots, and white from eating prepared foods.

Breeding Spawned initially in 2018 in by Greek aquarist Konstantinos Giannopoulos. Spawning occurred in a large single-ended terracotta cave, the tank contained large cichlids and many hiding places in wood and pots.
