Type Locality Manaus, Brazil.
Synonym(s) Doras humeralis, Nemadoras bachi, Opsodoras humeralis, Oxydoras bachi
Etymology Nemadoras: From the Greek nematos meaning filament, and doras, meaning skin (also a word commonly used in forming generic names for doradids); probably in reference to the lack of scutes along the back.
