Behaviour After a water change, the males immediately started displaying, flaring their fins to each other and to the females. A few days later, there were fry swimming at the water surface.
Segregation Eggs were never seen. When the fry were observed, first they were seen clinging to the walls of the aquarium, and after a day or so they were seen swimming at the water surface. Once found, they were removed using a turkey baster and transferred to a separate 2.5 gallon aquarium with similar temp and pH parameters. The tank was outfitted with a small sponge filter.

Fry and juvenile feeding Fry were fed a pulverized mix of dry flake food, NLS pellets, spirulina wafers, and freeze-dried Tubifex worms. These were all combined in a mortar and pestle, and pulverized to a fine powder, then a small pinch of this was added to the tank 2-3 times per day.
