Type Locality Tributary to Río San Miguel (kilometer 50, 4.5 kilometers south of Tipischca), about 0°10'N, 76°13'W, Río Amazonas/Napo basin, Napo, Ecuador.
Pronunciation auto SINK luss
Etymology Greek, ous, oto = ear + Latin, cinclus = latticework; in allusion to the holes of the head in the ears. The specific epithet is based on the Huaorani people who are native to the Upper Napo River area in Ecuador.
