Feeding Will eat most foods ranging from flake food to frozen foods such as blood worms and brine shrimp. Also include some sinking wafers. User data.
Furniture A species that appears to have a liking for plants, other than that provide a soft sand or small, rounded gravel substrate and some refuge that the cory can sit under. Not a cave, rather something like a piece of bogwood sitting about 3cm / 1 inch off the bottom.
Compatibility A mainstay of the hobby and an ideal community catfish.
Suggested Tankmates Keep in a shoal of at least three ideally more. Five to seven is best. Can be kept with any community fish as does not specifically require softer water. This species is still imported from the wild in large numbers, quarantine is recommended especially if adding groups to well established tanks.
Breeding Has occasionally been bred in the aquarium; breeding follows the usual Cory formula. One published record details a water depth of 20cm, pH of 7.5, GH of 11°, KH 3° at a temperature of 23.3°C in a heavily planted tank.
Breeding Reports There is no breeding report.
