Type Locality Saku-Kadu Village, Singen River, Brahmaputra drainage, Arunachal Pradesh, India.
Etymology Badis: Latin, badius = the colour of swift.

General Remarks Badis sp. 'BUXA' as found in the trade is very likely to be B. singenensis. This awaits verification at the moment.
