Type Locality Lagartococha, northern tributary of Río Aguarico, between 0°39'S, 75°16'W and 0°28'S, 75°21'W, Napo, Ecuador, elevation 200-220 meters.

Etymology Napoensis, after the region in Ecuador where the type specimen was collected, Napo.

Feeding Flake, tablets. Live food such as whiteworm, bloodworm, brineshrimp and tubifex (sparingly). Frozen bloodworm is more easily supplied and seems to bring on growth in sub-adults very satisfactorily. User data.
Furniture Dense planting around the edges of the tank, thus providing a large swimming space. Although gravel can be used it is best to use a soft sandy substrate.
Compatibility As for all Corys, a perfect citizen.
