| Identification | No eyes; white or pink. Jaw teeth well developed; lips at corner of mouth thinck; lower jaw normal in shape, slightly shorter than upper jaw. Separate gill membranes with strong fold between them. Broad, flat head and snout. Long, high adipose fin. Relatively short anal fin, rounded in outline, 19-20 rays. Caudal fin truncate or slightly emarginate. Lateral-line canals and pores on head well developed. |
