Type Locality Lhasa, Tibet.

Pronunciation Gleep toe stir nawn
Etymology The generic name comes from the Greek glyptos, meaning carved, and sternon, meaning breast, in reference to the folds of skin comprising the thoracic adhesive apparatus.
