Re: Request to add new species
Just curious about Aquatic Republic using the genus name Maylandia rather than Metriaclima . It has been proven by Konings and Stauffer that Metriaclima is the correct name. Hi Mark, Yes, this is a contentious one - the name selected was done so by Anton Lamboj. More generally, we basically follow ...

Re: Request to add new species
I've added the species and common name, but I am not a fan of wholesale plagiarism, so will add data as it is reviewed etc. However, it can now be used for species populations in "my fish" which I think is the main thing.

The next email notification stream is online! This one sends an email notifying you of My Cats data which has not been touched in over a year. You will be given links to update each out-of-date species in one email (including a simple "no change" link). If there are several species requiri...

Re: IUCN status for the species profiles?
Limited IUCn information has been added to all species profile. The source data isn't brilliant, but it's been added.

Re: Off Topic page ? .
I'm not sure there will be much traffic in the forum besides housekeeping and "how do I do" type questions about using the site.
As to a catfish forum - well, I'd guess folks would use planetcatfish.com as the usernames between the two sites are linked.

Re: IUCN status for the species profiles?
So, the IUCN don't have a way of sharing their data with other websites, so MatsP built one for us! We've introduced a new field on the species data sheet that shows the IUCN Red List Status for any evaluated species. This enhancement (the work for which was carried out 100% by MatsP) addresses the ...

Re: IUCN status for the species profiles?
Just an update since my last post. I had a conversation with IUCN about this more recently. They don't have any way of exposing the data they have at a species level to other websites. Short of "cut and pasting" every entry and checked it manually there isn't currently a good way of mainta...
