Distribution Atlantic slope, from the Patuca River (Honduras) to the Matina River (Costa Rica); Pacific slope, from the Guasaule River (Nicaragua) to the Tempisque and Bebedero rivers (Costa Rica)(Ref.36377). Discovered in 1991 in the hot spring at Heviz (Balaton, Hungary) where it is established
