Scientific Name	**Leptodoras nelsoni** Sabaj Pérez, 2005
Common Name
Type Locality	Río Metica (Meta-Orinoco drainage), about 1.5 kilometers east of Rajote, Plancha 267, 3°56'N, 73°03'W, Meta, Colombia.
Etymology	Leptodoras: From the Greek leptos, meaning slender, and doras, meaning skin (also a word commonly used in forming generic names for doradids); in reference to the shape. Named in honor of Douglas Nelson, for his dedicated service to the ichthyological community since 1983 as Collection Manager of Fishes, University of Michigan Museum of Zoology.
