Scientific Name Paracheirodon simulans  (Géry, 1963)
Common Names Green Neon Tetra
Blauer Neon (Germany), False Neon Tetra, Grön Neontetra (Sweden)
Type Locality Rio Purus, Manaus, Brazil [corrected to River Jufaris, which empties into the Rio Negro just above Rio Branco].
Etymology Paracheirodon: Greek, para = the side of + Greek, cheir = hand + Greek, odous = teeth.
