Common Name
Type Locality	Creek tributary of rio dos Touros, on road from Silveira to Rondinha, 28°39'18"S, 50°18'25"W, Bom Jesus, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Species Information
Size	115mm or 4.5" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	Pareiorhaphis species are primarily diagnosed from remaining neoplecostomines by having the canal plate firmly articulated to the preopercle, and by a series of sexually-dimorphic features of hypertrophied odontodes of adult males, giving the fish a hispid appearance.
General Remarks	This species shows significant color and morphological variation across its range, even with regard to secondary sex traits in males.
