General Remarks | A very large (well over 10cm SL) flattened, reddish fish, similar in color pattern to Rineloricaria lanceolata, but with a distinctly different tail color pattern from the typical R. lanceolata, featuring a broad dark vertical band near the posterior margin of the caudal fin. The cheek odontodes of mature males are well-developed. This fish is imported out of Colombia as by-catch with Rineloricaria eigenmanni. |
