Scientific Name Scleronema guapa    Ferrer & Malabarba, 2020
Common Name
Type Locality Sanga Santo Antônio, tributary of rio Ibicuí da Armada, rio Ibicuí basin, lower rio Uruguay, Rosário do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, 30°17'41"S, 54°59'17"W.
Etymology Scleronema: Greek, skleros = hard + Greek, nema = filament (or thread) referring to the hard base of the maxillary barbel. The specific epithet "guapa" is a regional adjective used to describe a beautiful person; an allusion to the beauty of the new species.
