Type Locality Nan Kywe Chaung about 200 meters south of Sha Dau village, about 18 kilometers on road Myitkyina-Mogaung, 25°20'03''N, 97°16'40''E, Irrawaddy River drainage, Myitkyina District, Kachin State, Myanmar.
Etymology Badis: Latin, badius = the colour of swift.
