Identification | Hill stream stone loaches of genus Balitora are distributed in South and South-East Asia and are currently represented by 18 species. Species of this genus inhabit clear and fast or moderately flowing streams and associated rivers in the mountain regions and are often found clinging to submerged rocks. |
