Scientific Name Belonoglanis tenuis  Boulenger, 1902
Common Name
Type Locality Ubangi River at Banzyville, Democratic Republic of Congo, about 4°18'N, 21°11'E.
Synonym(s) Belonoglanis curvirostris, Belonoglanis nudipectus
Pronunciation be LONO glan iss - TEN you iss
Etymology Belonoglanis: From the Greek belone, meaning needle, and glanis, meaning catfish; in reference to the shape.

Size 172mm or 6.8" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification On the top of the body there is a single row of bony plates from the dorsal fin to the caudal peduncle, paralleled by two rows of bony plates on the sides of the belly. Very long and thin caudal peduncle. Small adipose about halfway between the dorsal and the caudal, and a large dorsal fin. Apparently are toothless.

Uniform brownish. The back edges of the dorsal , adipose, anal and caudal fins are blackish.
