Scientific Name Betta simplex  Kottelat, 1994
Common Name Krabi Mouth Brooder Betta
Type Locality Spring (small lake) of Tham Sra Kaew and Nine Ponds, 2.2 kilometers from National highway 4034, northwestern Krabi, Krabi Province, Thailand.
Etymology Betta: Siamese local name of the fish "ikan bettah".
