Type Locality	Minas Gerais State, rio Itamarandiba, stream of headwaters of rio Itamarandiba, rio Jequitinhonha drainage, 18°05'48"S, 43°00'19"W, Brazil.
Etymology	The generic name, Chauliocheilos, is a combination of the Greek chaulios (conspicuous, outstanding, prominent), and cheilos (lip), in reference to the labial appendix. The specific epithet is from the Latin adjective saxatilis (that live on rocks), in reference to the microhabitat where the species is mainly sampled.
