Type Locality Cutato River, at Jamba bridge, Angola.
Etymology gracilis: refers to its slender (gracilis=slender, gracile) appearance.

Distribution Africa: Cutato River, a tributary of the Okavango in Angola. Recently recorded from the Cunene. Known only from a few specimens. The taxonomy of this species is under review and it is likely to be placed in another genus in the near future.
