|Identification||By having a good look at its teeth, the number of which is extremely reduced, it is safe to say that this species is a member of the genus Scobinancistrus. The Scobinancistrus species known so far are from the southern clear water tributaries of the Amazon in northeastern Brazil.|
|Sexing||Males in good condition have odontodes on rear part of the body and pectoral fins.|

|Feeding||Primarily a carnivore, the reduced set of teeth in this fishes mouth don't make much impact on algae etc. Feed chopped mussel, bloodworm and flake food in tablet form.|
