Type Locality Throughout Myanmar.
Synonym(s) Pseudeutropius acutirostris
Pronunciation a kew tee ross triss
Etymology The specific epithet comes from the Latin acutus, meaning sharp, and rostrum, meaning snout, in reference to the relatively long snout of this species

Size 80mm or 3.1" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification This species is readily distinguishable from silurids by the presence of a small adipose fin. It can be distinguished from Pseudeutropius spp. in having a shorter anal fin, and from N. atherinoides in having a longer snout.

Compatibility A peaceful, schooling species that is compatible with most fish. Should be kept in groups of three or more indivduals. Ideal tankmates are other small Asian fish (barbs, rasboras, gouramies) in a biotope setup.
