Scientific Name Cordylancistrus nephelion  Provenzano & Milan, 2006
Common Name
Type Locality Mesia River, tributary of Guare River, near village Corocito, about 10°12'N, 67°05'W, Tuy River system, Caribbean Sea basin, Venezuela.
Etymology (Greek)Kordyle = Club, swelling + (Greek) agkistron = hook, referring to its wide head. The name of the species is taken from the Greek word nephelion, meaning cloud-like spots, in reference to the colour pattern of the species.
