Type LocalityBadillo River, tributary of Cesar River, north of Valledupar, Magdalena River basin, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Departamento Cesar, Colombia, approximately 10°12'N, 66°05'W.
Type Locality NotesHolotype lat/long incorrectly reported based on narrative of type locality. According to GBIF.org, the correct type locality for MBUCV-27935 is 10.70997, -73.28597.
Synonym(s)
Etymology(Greek)Kordyle = Club, swelling + (Greek) agkistron = hook, referring to its wide head. Lorica, Loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather (a suit of armour made of leather).
