Common Name
Type Locality Rio Paraná, Salto de Urubupungá, between states of Mato Grosso and São Paulo, Brazil.
Pronunciation Kre nee sick lah.
Etymology Crenicichla: Latin, crenulatus = cut, clipped + Greek, kichle = wrasse.
