| Sexing | Females grow larger and are more full-bodied, this is best observed from above the fish. Males will typically have more pointed as opposed to more rounded fin tips as they mature. |
| General Remarks | This is a rare species in the hobby. It has been imported a few times but only by travelling aquarists. It is closely related to Corydoras burgessi and Corydoras melanistius from Brazil. |
