Scientific Name Hoplomyzon papillatus  Stewart, 1985
Common Name
Type Locality Río Aguarico, 1 kilometer upstream from confluence with Río Shushufindi, Napo Province, 0°17'S, 76°24.5'W, Ecuador.
Etymology Hoplomyzon: From the Greek hoplos, meaning shield and myzon, meaning belly; in reference to the bony plates on the ventral surface.
