Common Name
Type Locality Ribeirão Cocal, under bridge of GO-118 Road, Rio Tocantins basin, district of São Gabriel de Goiás, Planaltina, Goiás, Brazil, 15°16'15"S, 47°33'06"W.
Etymology Greek, itys, ityos = circle + Greek, glanis = a fish that can eat the bait without touching the hook; a cat fish.
