Common Name
Type Locality Rio Paraguaçu near Iassu, Estado da Bahia, Brazil, 12°45'S, 40°12'W.
Etymology Greek, itys, ityos = circle + Greek, glanis = a fish that can eat the bait without touching the hook; a cat fish.
