Common Name
Type Locality Rio Jamanxim (Tapajós), at Prainha, near Novo Progresso, 7°03'51"S, 55°26'28"W, Novo Progresso, Pará, Brazil.
Etymology Leptodoras: From the Greek leptos, meaning slender, and doras, meaning skin (also a word commonly used in forming generic names for doradids); in reference to the shape.
