Identification | Shorter and deeper bodied than Mochkus niloticus The anterior side of the dorsal spine is smooth (serrated in M.niloticus).Humeral process is long and pointed.10 to 14 rays in the adipose fin.The caudal fin is indented with lobes of equal length.Base coloration is yellow-brown with dark brown to blackish marbling. A darker spot extends across the flanks beneath the dorsal, a second below the adipose fin a third on the caudal peduncle.Small dark dots which may form transverse bands on the fins. |
General Remarks | Seegers(2008) mentions its occurence in the Chad drainage is questionable. |
