Scientific Name Neoarius paucus  (Kailola, 2000)
Common Name
Type Locality Flinders River near Maxwellton, 20°47'S, 142°43'E, Queensland, Australia.
Pronunciation Nee oh ar ee uss.
Etymology Neo, new (newly discovered) and arius from the Greek arios, meaning warlike or bellicose; in reference to the well-developed fin spines.
