General Remarks | A specimen (named Methuselah) is the longest kept fish in public aquarium history having been kept for 80 years in 2019. It was brought to the aquarium as an adult and so may be 90 years older or more. |

Distribution | Oceania: southern Queensland, Australia in Burnett and Mary River systems. Introduced successfully in southeastern Queensland. International trade restricted (CITES II, since 1.7.1975). |
