Type Locality	Rio Paraguai at Fazenda Descalvados, ca. 16°43'58"S, 57°44'56"W, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
Synonym(s)	Doras eigenmanni, Oxydoras eigenmanni
Pronunciation	aw san core ah. - EYE gn MAN eye.
Etymology	Species named in honour of Dr. Carl H. Eigenmann, Professor of Ichthyology in Indiana (1863-1927).
Species Information
Size	97mm or 3.8" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	Sometimes labelled as Opsodoras stubelii or similar in hobby literature. This species has a spotted caudal fin, as opposed to D. punctatus which can have a spotted caudal fin but additionally has two mid lobe horizontal dark stripes.
